Newness is coming

Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit on my front porch and take in some sunshine and fresh air. As the whole world is under quarantine, this activity that I do often without any thought was a really big thing to me on yesterday. After being inside the house for so long I was beginning to feel a little suffocated. I was beginning to feel the sadness for others you are struggling much harder than I am.

I have single friends and relatives that must go at this COVID-19 alone where as I have a husband that I can turn over and talk to about the madness of the day. My husband and daughter still have to make a trip to work everyday under all these warnings while I’m left at home to pray without ceasing for all those that do have to leave their homes daily to earn a paycheck and to take care of the sick and wounded.

About 2 years ago my husband cut down a small rose bush I had while doing yard work. He said he was pruning it but nope, he cut down my rose bush. I was so hurt. I remember I just kept saying, “why would you cut down my rose bush?” Since he committed that act, I have avoided that section of the yard. He mow it but I don’t go over and clean up around the rose bush the way I use too. I have just left it to do whatever it wanted to do.

While enjoying the sunshine on yesterday I glanced over to my right in the direction of the dead, or so I thought, rose bush to see new roses coming forth. Amazing! A-MAZ-ING I screamed out. How is this possible? The rose bush is dead. I haven’t seen anything come from this bush in 2 years. Oh WOW! I jumped my from chair, grabbed my phone and snapped some pics. I had to share this and I needed the picture to prove what I was seeing. After I was back in my chair grinning from ear to ear from excitement something else exciting hit my spirit, NEW, He can make all things new.

Revelation 21:5 English Standard Version (ESV)

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

I have been blessed to awaken with this scripture still in my spirit. He makes all things new. After all this madness is over, after we are allowed off lockdown, there will be some newness that we will be able to take in and enjoy. There will be some changed attitudes and more gratefulness. There will be more smiles to give and less hate. There will be more roses blooming. Ladies hang in there, newness is coming. Breathe in…breathe out…smile. NEWNESS IS COMING!

You ladies have a great, amazing day, and I'm going to go clean up around my NEW rose bush.
